Award-Winning Oregon Photojournalist Documenting Stories of the Pacific Northwest

Mark Graves is an award-winning Oregon photojournalist with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest and nearly two decades of experience documenting the stories that shape the region. His work focuses on people, place, and the unscripted moments that reveal Oregon’s character — from quiet, intimate portraits to fast-moving editorial and documentary assignments across the state.

When he’s not in the field, Mark works out of a large attic studio in Southeast Portland, a calm, light-filled space designed for portraiture, creative exploration, and long-form personal projects. He lives in Southeast Portland with his German shepherd, Viggo — a constant companion who has appeared in more photographs than most professional models. Between assignments, Mark also runs Bark With Mark, a personal project devoted to photographing dogs mid-play, mid-chaos, and mid-joy, capturing the honest, fleeting moments that happen when life is unposed.
